Daniel Foggo, CEO Australia
Daniel established RateSetter in Australia in 2012 to offer Australian consumers a fairer way to invest and borrow.
When working in finance, Daniel had identified a significant opportunity to disrupt the banking sector by utilising advances in technology. After meeting Peter Behrens and Rhydian Lewis, co-founders of the RateSetter group, he embarked on a journey to bring RateSetter to Australia.
Daniel previously worked in investment banking at Barclays in Sydney and at Rothschild in London and holds a Bachelor of Commerce (with Honours) and a Master of Business (with Distinction) in Economics and Finance. Daniel was named FinTech Leader of the Year at the inaugural Australian Fintech Awards in 2016.
Simon Cordell, Head of Credit Risk
Simon is responsible for RateSetter’s credit risk management, with primary responsibility for ensuring that the Provision Fund is sufficiently capitalised to be able to protect investors from borrower late payment and default on an ongoing basis.
A highly experienced senior risk executive, Simon has over 20 years' experience in consumer and small business lending risk management across Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. Most recently he was Head of Consumer Risk and then Head of Small Business Risk at American Express Australia, responsible for the full credit life cycle from origination through to collection.
Simon holds a Bachelor of Science.
Andrew Jones, Head of Business Development
Andrew has over 20 years’ experience in financial services and has led numerous projects focussed on disruptive innovation.
Andrew was previously Executive Director M&A and Strategy at Challenger, one of Australia’s largest investment management companies, and has served on several boards.
Prior to Challenger Andrew worked at Zurich Capital Markets, Qantas Airways and Baker & McKenzie. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Law (with Honours).
Natalie Housson, Finance Director
Natalie has extensive global finance experience across fintech, e-commerce and retail banking.
Natalie held a number of senior finance leadership and transformation roles with eBay and PayPal during a period of significant growth, working across Europe, the USA and Australia. Most recently, Natalie was Executive Manager at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia's retail banking services division.
Natalie holds a Bachelor of Arts (with Honours), and is a member of both CPA Australia and CIMA.
Glenn Riddell, Head of Operations and Technology
Glenn has broad experience building and advising disruptive finance platforms.
Glenn has been involved in the peer-to-peer lending industry since 2007, and was named CTO/CIO of the Year at the 2016 Australian FinTech Awards. He started his career as a consultant, advising listed and private companies, not-for-profits and startups on strategy and technology.
Glenn holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Master of Commerce (with First Class Honours) in Economics.
Robert Bishop, Responsible Manager
Robert is responsible for overseeing RateSetter’s compliance with its regulatory obligations and chairs the RateSetter Compliance Committee.
Robert has significant experience acting as a responsible manager for Australian financial services licence holders and has over thirty years of legal, financial and compliance experience, gained at firms including Linklaters & Paines, Allen Allen & Hemsley, Ord Minnett and Robert Fleming.
Robert is an Executive Director of ASX-listed PharmAust Limited and Pitney Pharmaceuticals Pty Limited.

Vaughn is one of Australia’s most experienced and well-regarded retail banking executives. He recently retired as CEO of ING Direct, which he launched and helped grow to become Australia’s sixth largest retail bank over the last two decades. Vaughn also has extensive banking experience across Asia, where he has led ING Group’s commercial and retail banking operations and served as CEO of ING Retail Banking Asia.
During his tenure at ING Direct, Vaughn launched Australia’s first branchless bank model. Beyond his track record for driving significant innovation in banking, Vaughn became well known for his pro-consumer stance, his commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences, as well as his expertise in corporate culture and leadership.
Peter co-founded the RateSetter group with Rhydian Lewis in the UK in 2009 and is one of the world’s most experienced peer-to-peer lending executives.
Peter was disillusioned with banking’s failure to serve the British public and jumped at the chance to define the principles of a company that would disrupt the sector. Working in finance, he had recognised the inefficiencies of the big institutions and was compelled to give people a tool that put them back in control of their own money.
Peter leads the commercial team of the RateSetter group in the United Kingdom and previously worked at the Royal Bank of Scotland and Ashurst in London.
Martin is an experienced Australian company executive, director and investor.
He holds over 25 years' experience in technology, consumer, telecoms and media with leading brands including Publishing and Broadcasting Limited, Singtel Optus Pty Limited, Dixons Retail Plc, The Rank Organisation Plc, PepsiCo Australia Holdings Pty Ltd and IBM Australia Limited.
Rob is the Managing Director of stratton, Australia’s largest car finance broker, which he founded in 1998. Rob has overseen the growth of stratton from a one-person finance broker to one of Australia’s most innovative finance providers, offering finance and insurance solutions for cars, commercial vehicles, boats, property and equipment to over one million online Australians a year. Rob brings particular expertise in customer service and a passion for disruptive technologies.
Rob is the board representative of stratton and of Carsales Ltd, which owns 50.1% of stratton. Rob’s alternate on the board is Toby Simmons, CEO of stratton.
Adrian is the founder and a partner of Five V Capital, a private equity firm that invests in leading mid-market Australian and New Zealand businesses with strong growth potential.
Adrian is a highly experienced investor with over 20 years' private equity experience, and has successfully led and managed Five V’s investments including Ascender, Madman Film & Entertainment, Unified Healthcare Group, Canva and Siteminder.
Prior to Five V Capital, Adrian was a Managing Partner and board member at leading global private equity firm CVC Capital Partners, where he helped found the Asia Pacific and Australian offices.
Adrian is also a board member of Carriageworks, the contemporary multi-arts centre based in Redfern, NSW.
