A fresh, new look for RateSetter

If you’ve visited the RateSetter website over the past week, you might have done a double take: where did all those new colours, images, and articles come from?

We’re still us and we’re still dedicated to helping Australia’s borrowers and investors achieve more with their money. We’re also proud, after months of hard work, to reveal RateSetter’s new brand to the world. So, why the refresh? And what exactly have we changed?

A reflection of RateSetter and you

Since RateSetter launched in Australia in 2014, we’ve grown by leaps and bounds: in April, for example, we soared past $500 million in consumer loans funded and in May we saw a record number of new investors register with us.

As our company matures, we need a brand that reflects our position as the market leader—a brand that’s simple, open and rewarding.

It’s also become clear that we’re connecting with a broad cross-section of the Australian public: savvy investors and creditworthy borrowers from every walk of life who have chosen our products because they’re affordable, competitive, and just make sense.

With this in mind, we wanted to refresh our brand in a way that would reflect the diversity of RateSetter’s customers and partners. Refreshing our brand also gave us an opportunity to develop a brand that stands out in the Australian market, helping more Australians discover us.

More of what matters most

Before redeveloping our brand, we wanted to be clear about what RateSetter stands for. So, we did some internal soul-searching and surveyed our customers and partners to find out how they see RateSetter. This allowed us to identify three core values that underpin everything we do.

1. Simplicity

We believe that borrowing and investing with RateSetter should be straightforward and simple, every step of the way. That means no complicated signup process or confusing financial jargon. We want to make it easier for customers to take control of their own financial futures.

2. Openness

RateSetter is committed to transparency: from sharing our entire loan book to providing clear answers to frequently asked questions, we’ll always do everything we can to ensure that customers have the information they need to make informed decisions.

3. Value

Every cent counts. Whether our customers are borrowing for a holiday or investing to grow their nest egg, RateSetter works hard to deliver the best possible value to every customer.

What this means for us

Having clarified our values and objectives, we were able to start making changes that reflect who we really are. You’ll see, for example, that, while purple remains our primary colour, we’ve embraced a new, wider colour palette that reflects our bold approach.

Similarly, on our website, we’ve included playfully candid images of people who, like our customers, are diverse, emotive, and relatable. After all, RateSetter is dedicated to providing a better deal for everyday Australians.

Finally, to represent our ongoing relationship with RateSetter UK, we chose to update our logo to align with theirs.
